BUSSACO

Project carried out in 2011 in the Bussaco Forest.

The Bussaco Forest holds an intense symbolic and historical weight—a place where garden and forest blend into one, where the sacred and the ornamental have coexisted for centuries as a result of the 18th-century intervention by the Discalced Carmelites order. Photographing it concentrates all that historical intensity into a single temporal gesture. It uses controlled motion blur and foggy days, which manifest as formal elements—the forest gains a dreamlike quality, akin to a stage setting, responding to the visual and historical weight of the space.
