FLOW
Project carried out in Gerês between 2013 and 2014. Flow is the series that most directly explores the tension between the static and the dynamic. The turbulent water of a waterfall in Gerês photographed in macro.
As a whole, it respects an intentionally repetitive structure, upholding pattern as a carrier of meaning and relying on the geometry that emerges from natural processes. Flow is dense and saturated. Here, extreme proximity does not simplify; it multiplies. Every centimeter of the image carries the same density of information, without hierarchy or vanishing point. The title works across multiple levels simultaneously: it describes the movement of water, suggests a continuous process, and points to the idea of flow as a fundamental state—of nature, time, and the image itself.
