LOOP
Project completed in 2025, using images captured between 2013 and 2020.
Of all the series, *Loop* most directly conveys the central mechanism of the work as a whole: the transformation of a natural object into a sign through a formal gesture. Two horizontal photographs, rotated to a vertical orientation and joined together. The resulting system is something that no longer belongs entirely to photography, nature, or abstraction. Formally, the operation is completely transparent—the attentive observer perceives the system. The forms created by the junction possess a visual logic of their own, absent from the original images. They forgo their individuality to serve another purpose. It calls into question authorship and the creative moment: where does the work begin? At the moment of capture? At the rotation? At the joining?
