WAVES

"Waves" is a visual essay in diptych format, created in 2012. A single video unfolds into two panels.

In both, time has been reworked through retiming: the waves advance and recede, breathe, hesitate. The landscape, now expanded into a panorama, extends beyond the original recording and invents a new geography. The right-hand panel is mirrored horizontally and reversed in time, from end to beginning. Thus, over four minutes, the waves “dance”: around minute 2, they meet and coordinate; soon after, they return to their own rhythm. It is a visual essay about time and the visual perception of landscape, between chaos and order.
